Steven J. Warne, OD

sjw-photo-e1361658475320Dr. Warne graduated from Brigham Young University with a B.S. degree in Biology where he was active in wildlife and evolutionary research. He received a Doctorate in Optometry from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. During his time there, he completed a contact lens internship with the vision providers for the Miami Dolphins. In 2010, Dr. Warne was accepted to the University of Alabama at Birmingham where he completed a cornea/contact lens residency. He has extensive training in correcting patients with corneal irregularities including keratoconus, pellucid marginal degeneration, post-surgical ectasia, and moderate to severe dry eye. During his residency, Dr. Warne treated veterans in the Alabama VA health system; including veterans housed in the Birmingham VA Hospital’s Blind Rehabilitation Program. In 2011, he was awarded the Sheldon Wechsler Contact Lens Residency Award. Dr. Warne is a member of the American Optometric Association’s Contact Lens and Cornea Section. Dr. Warne lived in Colombia for two years and is fluent in Spanish. He now makes Chico home with his wife and three children.
